The theatrical play ‘In the grove of the modest’ will be presented as part of the 3rd Meeting of New Creators, at the XIV International Meeting of Ancient Drama organized by the European Cultural Center of Delphi. The direction belongs to Yolanda Markopoulou and the actors Maria Aeginitou and Haris Charalambous play.

When Oedipus leaves exile from Thebes with only his daughter Antigone as a companion, he arbitrarily enters Colonos, the Sacred Grove of Semnon. He arrives a vagabond, old, unknown, his footsteps echo those of today's refugee.

Thousands of people are trying to find the opportunity to apply for asylum in a country unknown to them. "It's like waking up and being in another place, without having any idea what you will find in front of you. Different voices, different languages... Where am I? A sense of chaos. I'm moving forward, I'll be somewhere, only my instinct leads me...'.

A theatrical play based on true testimonies, passages of the 21st century that establish the primordial questions of the refugee. In the swan song of Sophocles, "Oedipus at Colonus", we trace the timeless phenomenon of the existence of man without a homeland.
