Now, what's it like living in a new city?

The City is the Athens of 2011. And this is your Station, a space where you can share and express yourself freely using various visual media and new technologies.

The "STATION ATHENS" workshop is organized for the second consecutive year, as a collaboration of three non-governmental organizations, active in the field of helping vulnerable groups.

Arsis, Polyplanity and Amaka have designed a pioneering program aimed at the adaptation of asylum seekers and refugees into Greek society, both socially and culturally.

The participants are young people, aged 15 to 30, who have come to Greece very recently and have experienced and continue to experience conditions that are aggravating or even prohibitive for their smooth personal development and their access to society as a whole.

At the same time, young people from Greece also participate in the program. In this way communication between peoples is promoted on a real level.

By combining the visual arts with new technologies and theatrical play, social participation is strengthened and the integration process in the new environment is facilitated.

The word "station" is used both metaphorically, referring to the refugee movement, and literally.

All the action takes place at Synergy-O, in a specially designed workshop  and the actions are guided by trainers specialized in the field.

Within a colorful and multilingual environment every year, we provide the space to listen to new stories, to depict them in various visual media and - most importantly! - to dream and imagine a beautiful future.

At the end of each year, the work of the workshop is presented in the form of a theatrical event, where theater and photography are combined, in the neighborhood of Metaxourgeio.
