I / THE GAMBLER

The theater workshop “The Gambler” began in October 2015 in Athens, in the artistic space SYNERGY-O. Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s homonym novel was the key inspiration.  The story and its heroes stimulated the workshop’s participants - 5 men addicted to excessive gambling in the past - to re-cite their experience of addiction. The artistic process was based on research through improvisation focusing on their personal stories.  The result of this nine month experience was the creation of the documentary theater performance “i / the Gambler,” which took place on the 22nd of July 2016, in the main stage of the Onassis Cultural Center in Athens, due to "RE-LOAD Festival". The audience's warm reception inspired us to take the show further, both in Greece and abroad.
